What did you do to Your Sportster Today?

The one thing I noticed that freaked me out was on the front wheel, the axel goes through the forks and on the one end is a pinch bolt which i assume holes the axel in place. That thing was loose. I bought a nylock nut last night and I’m gonna tighten that up this morning and make sure nothing moved.
Also found a brand new battery tender on letgo for 17 dollars. What a day

It was a beautiful day here in Indiana, well 58* and sunny on December 3 is a beautiful day.
Rode a little over 100 miles this afternoon before the weather changes big time. Temps of low/mid 30's for highs, and low 20's, upper teens for lows coming at the end of the week. It's supposed to stay that way thru the end of the year. Did I mention possible snow too...
Pulled off at a rest stop on the way home.

I bought mine today, my second. 1997 with 18k miles. Runs well but the previous owners didn’t take care of it; dings, scratches, chips all over. However dude I bought it from redid the forks, riser, oils, carb, and new front tire. For 2400 bucks I’m gonna ride it till the wheels fall off.
Oh, and hopefully the wheels fall off when you're dropping the jiffy at the end of a last, epic ride!

Bad news dudes. The bike I posted just a few replies up is no more. A friend who wanted to learn how to ride ghost rode it across a parking lot and really did a number on it. His first time on a bike and no experience with a manual trans, which I find to be a large part of teaching someone. Foot peg, brake lever, bars, oil primary cover, pipes, etc damaged. Luckily no one was hurt and the main components of the bike weren’t either. We came to an agreement and he purchased the bike for the price I had invested and he is now the owner. We have been in touch and he apparently is making arrangements to have it trailered to a HD dealer for repair.
With that being said I have found a very solid deal on an 06 1200L with lots of goodies. Chicago weather is making one final hoorah into the 60s today however it’s also likely going to be raining when I get off and can go see it, but I’m hopefully not letting that stop me. I will hopefully have a few pics of my new, new Sportster tonight.
Cheers

Sounds like he was cool enough to rectify the accident. Good luck with the 06.
