I rode out to the town I grew up in and met up with a friend and his son. We rode down to Newport, Indiana to check out the annual Newport Antique Auto Hill Climb.

Newport is a small town around 50-60 miles southwest of Indy, the hill climb is for antique cars, motorcycles, and trucks. This is their 50th year, and this is the largest automotive event in Indiana after the Indy 500. The starting line is in the middle of town, and runs up a rather steep hill leading out of town. Best time wins...

Waiting to meet up with my friend. The soybean harvest is well under way.

Looking back toward the starting line.

This was a 1950's Indian heading up the hill, there were quite a few old 1920's thru 1940's Harley Davidson's running it too.

Had a great time, rode about 180 miles, and weather here in Indiana was perfect.

Yesterday I rode the Sporty into the shop and learned about Sportster Sickness UK!

Paul & Ellie from the UK stopped by the shop.

We had a great time visiting for a few hours.

Paul rode the DK Sporty...

...he was happy to get on the bike, it has been a couple of weeks since he has ridden.

Dawn and Dwayne were there also to meet them. We showed them around the shop some, and had a very pleasant time visiting. Paul is known on a couple of forums as "BensonUK".

We learned all about Sportster Sickness UK and the the Sportster Sicko's!

Photo of Paul & Ellie with the Sportster Sickness T-shirt they brought for us. It is now hanging on the shop wall. Thank you!

I'm going to be talking more with Paul about how DK Custom can be involved with Sportster Sickness UK...you know we love the Sportsters here!

Here's a Youtube of the lastest Sicko ride-

And a LINK to a report that Paul made on the Sicko's!

We had a great time! Thank you, Paul & Ellie, for stopping by.

I joined sportster sickness a while back. DK, your style bikes would fit well in that group...Sporty Baggers? well not so much....there are some that really hate sporty baggers and make it known. But a lot of amusing discussions on there.

Did my own 5k service. Used HD's Syn3 for both engine and primary.

Today I installed 10 in miniapes on my 09 sporty 1200c. I took the extra time and internally wired them and boy am I glad I did! I also installed a +4 in stainless brake line along with turn signal replicators while I was at it. I took her on a 200 mile ride today and am quite pleased!
