Well J&P cycles just lost a customer; second time they've messed up an order of mine. Ordered a set of wiseco piston rings kits from them. The website said they were correct fitment for the factory standard bore pistons; I called them to double check and they confirmed the fitment. I get my pistons off the con rods to replace the rings and seat the pistons into my cylinders and notice that the oil ring is twice the thickness of the oem hd oil ring. Alarms went off in my head and called the j&p tech support he confirmed that the listing is incorrect and the rings are for a 1200cc XL Evo bored .06 over for wiseco pistons. Wiseco ring on bottom and oem on top

So forgive me, I haven't been following your progress very closely,
but why didn't you order the rings at the same time from the same
supplier that supplied the pistons ? That way you'd have a "matched
set" so to speak.....
Thanks for any clarifications,
T.

Had to remove the #2 cylinder head to have a broken exhaust stud removed. Since I had one off and out to a friend to be milled I pulled the other and had the cylinders honed. Since I already needed new gaskets I decided to put fresh piston rings in as well. The engine only has 13k miles on it so there was no need for new pistons.

The NOS Sportster Collection air cleaner cover arrived this afternoon. I'd wager there aren't too many out there. It's different, I like it...
Only change that needed to be made was, apparently Harley welded a nut in the center of the filter element to allow the same filter to be used with the Iron's round air cleaner. I had to cut that nut off, other than that it was plug & play.
