Installed V&H FP3 tuner today, and wow what a difference over the HD Street Performance tuner I had since I purchased the bike. Decel popping is completely gone and much better throttle response. And that's with the base map for my configuration using their Fuelpak app through my Samsung S8. The weather turned bad and so no time for an Autotune run. What's great is that I can have the phone held with the ram mount and autotune on the fly, no need to go back home for a laptop. Plus running the sensor data within the app is like having a full console installed on the bike.

Default First solo ride!

took the 883L for my first solo ride today. Found a nice empty parking lot for some slow speed maneuvers and got comfortable to get the speedo to 45. I know 45 is normal but after the MSF course and just normal neighborhood riding doing twisties at the speed the bike likes to lean felt awesome!!!

happy and safe riding everyone!

YES! Take all tank lifts off! I have never understood that trend. I like things looooowwwww!

To stay on topic, here is something I did to my sportster today:

I cut myself a new plate mount that is placed at the derby cover.

Attachment 621084

Attachment 621104

Attachment 621105

I have only seen this done one time before, but I thought it looked great. Not sure of the legality of placing my plate so far forward but it IS still visible from behind, so I shouldn't catch too much guff.

It is cut from 3/16" steel and should be plenty strong enough to not experience any vibration cracking. I'll rider around for a bit and update my build thread regarding durability.

Is there a light for the plate? It might not matter for you but it has been my experience that LEOs stop me looking for a violation to justify the stop.

I'm working on a light setup. Going to print a prototype within the week. Should have it lit up pretty well using exisiting wiring if everything goes as planned.

I have a plate light over on the plate holder. plus NJ has no 'inspection', its self regulated. cant believe it in this state where everything else is 12 forms, filled out in triplicate but. But that is a decent looking and priced replacement option.

Took her for a ride yesterday afternoon. did try to heat up and bend my stock kickstand but i guess propane isnt going to heat steel hot enough, oh well, need to look for a 'standard' length stand instead of the low.
