Found some time this weekend with no rain. Started to fit the mid controls I picked up. That proved to be a bigger task than expected. Had to remove exhaust to get to some screws/bolts/etc.
Turned out to be a good thing as I discovered that I was missing one of the exhaust nuts. Oops! Must have rattled off... Replaced all 4 since they were rusted pretty badly anyway.
As expected the brake lever on the mids would hit the Patriot exhaust when depressed fully. Out came the grinder and I'm making it work. Ate up all of my grinder batteries so it still needs a bit more trimming. It was good enough for a test ride though. At 6'3" it feels like I'm perched on top of the bike now. I like that I can stand up on the pegs if I wanted, and the added control is welcomed. Have to finish it up and go on a longer ride to ultimately decided if they're staying on or if the forwards are going back on.
Still needs a bit more trimming.
Good enough to test ride. Still could use a little more clearance.
