Works better this way IMHO, as it lets some air in, to relieve pressure behind the shield. Jus' a thought!
Mine is in the front as well, it's just showing at a bad angle in the pic.

Nice suggestion. It looks like I can lower my shield about a quarter inch before I'd have to relocate the front turn signals though. I may try that later this summer (or more likely just wait until winter). I've got plenty of slack to move those lights, I'd just need to figure out where and if I'd need new brackets...

IMO that extension is definitely function over beauty. I can see it functioning fine if the top of the extension is at nose height and you move the extension forward to form a flared effect.
I did a little measuring yesterday, the extension comes right to nose height, where the base windshield comes to chin height. Problem of being 6'1", with a Mustang two-up touring seat that pushes me a little bit up and forward in the saddle.

Function over beauty has worked pretty well for the A-10 Warthog over the years...

Default Air filter

So I just bought a 2016 forty eight. Looking to get an air filter for it. This is the p/n for a K&N that I want 63-1126. It says it is for 08-14 I think, but it looks like it has the same setup as the filters advertised for the 2016. Would that K&N work for my bike? If not what other 90 degree filters would someone recommend. I already know about the SE and V&H

Decided 9k miles to be the limit on these factory Dunflops.
Time to order the 170rear 110 front 777s I've been holding in the shopping cart for a while...
Noticed a little blister, also.

Thank you! I'm very happy with the way it's been working out. Plus it looks much less of an eye sore, tucking between the fender and frame, than any of the ones I've seen for sale. Still wide enough to fit my backpack, which is an awesome way to ride! My shoulders were always hurting from carrying too much weight.

Installed some shocks off a street glide. Took for a test spin last night. Wow. Night and day difference. Time to take this off some sweet jumps. The black shocks against the chrome frame covers looks off to me. I guess I might remove them now. It is worth the aesthetics for such a better ride.
