That I have. Got one more change I want to take care of before I call it "done" (yea right). https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...placement.html. Got couple rides (to texas and new york) coming up, so it might wait until they're past.

Also cut open my ham can a bit more, was running without it and I like it but im trying to decide if I want to run it like this instead of completely open.
dont think I want to run it closed, as the IAT are much higher with it. not sure if it really matters but I figured opening the front will move the area around a lot faster / and get that nice cool air instead of sucking it off the heads.
Might cut the whole thing around, so its more of like a plate, basically where the end of the radius is..
Did this by hand in one attempt with a jigsaw, pretty impressed!
Ill repaint it once I decide if Im leaving like this or cutting more of the top off.

Cold air intake lol

not bad for handheld jigsaw!

Just a hint

That looks really good. Not sure how much more improvement you'll get by cutting it any more.

Sounds like you have a PV, you could check your IAT and see if it is any warmer with your modded cover than without it.

Took the bike for a short ride. It started to rain so I turned around and headed back home.

Yes it sucked practically the whole week last week...today is good and should be sunnier days this coming week. Wait until school is out, then it will be a cruise everyday. Ride safe and enjoy the ride.

Welcome to the forum.

Did just that today. on 'cruising' throttle, I was sitting at about 95f IAT with it on, in ambient 70f.
took it off and went on another run, and it was 93f IAT. I think this is good enough.

Making it your own. That's what it's about.

Looks good.

You gonna show us all the shot mods on the bike when you finish up?

Yesterday was miserable (50°, windy and rainy) and so is today.

Saturday I mounted the exhaust, put in a fresh gallon of gas and......CRANKED HER UP after working and waiting for six months. WhooOOoot!

I was just going to see if she fired up, honest!!

I don't even have a seat on her yet.

But after a few blips on the throttle I couldn't resist so I took her for a run (well....a couple actually) around the block. I sat on the seat base but kept sliding off onto the rear light mounts. They were actually quite comfortable.

Then when I got back, I replaced a few (non critical) nuts and bolts that had fallen off.
I had not gotten to them on my "punch list" and they vibrated loose.

I really hadn't intended to ride her at all but it couldn't be helped.

There are some minor things to tend to but I'm feeling it.

finally tried to do a wheelie, and did it! just popped up the front wheel for a second, but surprised how easy it was to do. Much like my burn outs i was more interested to know i could do it than doing it often.
also washed her, but not real well, and noticed I had some over spray on my front fender, so I took that off, and cleaned it, top and bottom (wow the bottom was nasty!), waxed it and its waiting to get put back on.

Did this with the seat bolt! I tightened it down but I guess not enough as I didnt put my whole fender back together, so I tightened it up to go for a ride, and when I got back, the post was in the seat, but the bolt was missing
damn, those vibrations act quick!
