I would def do the Rocker Lockers, and while you're in there, I would also replace the umbrella valves (#27 & 28 in the diagram).
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...l#post15927858
the lockers are a bit more work and gaskets since you'll be pulling the complete box and not just the cover:

if going this route, consider the rocker box rebuild kit:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cometic-EST-...165703?vxp=mtr vs getting the hd ones. this kit has every gasket you need and some you don't(push rod gaskets?... why?)

The previous owner of my bike installed a laydown tail light lens. The light bulb is too close to the lens, which now has a melted spot about the size of a nickel.
I was able to find a drop in replacement for the incandescent bulb, an LED that's just as bright and is working well.
3157 LED Bulb - Dual Function 27 SMD LED Tower - Wedge Retrofit
I'll probably replace the lens next.

I've been working on my baby all winter. She's been bagged and tagged but is starting to go back together.
I was fitting everything back together to decide where to bob the rear fender and I decided, "what the hell! Do a swingarm mounted fender."
I chopped the OEM fender (because I'm too cheap to buy one) and I'm using what I have around the shop.
Here's the mock-up prior to welding closed the old bolt holes and welding it together.
Last night I welded the bolt holes, grinded and sanded and applied a skim of bondo. Tonight I'll sand and weld the mounting plate on. Then final mock-up.

I'm going to fabricate a luggage rack (sounds goofy I know) that will mount to the struts with hitch pins. I carry a pack when I commute so I would like to be able to strap it down sometimes.
I think I'll try to fabricate covers for them when the rack is not installed.
Not sure yet, but I don't like the way it looks when they are chopped off. I can always chop later if I decide my idea looks like crap.

way to easily facilitate a 'detachable' sissybar/rack for our 'long trips',
I'll keep them stock. Wonder if there is a way to 'hide' a support mount
that is lower than the top so as to 'triangulate' the mount points?
ie, drop a bar down with a somewhat hidden lower mounting point
to attach to. Obviously this would be a 'custom' solution.
(hope this made sense)
T.
