The 883 originally with the cast wheels -
I never thought this wheel looked right on the rear with the spoke front on the 1200C; maybe it'll look better on the somewhat customized 883; both cast wheels from the 883 are going on the 1200.
Short of putting something like a wide glide front end on your sportster, I don't know how you'd get a much wider tire on. On the rear, you could get a car tire and get more traction and way better wear mileage; the flat tread would be a plus on a sidecar rig. I have dual sport tires on my Ural sidecar rig (can't find car tires to fit), rugged tread and a lot cheaper than the Avon sidecar tires (which, money no object, I'd get). If you think it doesn't have enough stopping power, and haven't already replaced the front brake pads, you might consider a premium set of disk pads for the front, like EBC or Lyndall; I've used both and they're way better than the stock Harley pads were.

Finally got my Michelin Commander II's mounted and put on the bike. Removed both wheels myself and had them mounted for $30 at the local tire shop.
Got almost 12k miles out of my rear stock tire. Probably could have gotten a 1000 or more out of the front but decided to change them both.
Gotta recheck my belt tension and rear wheel alignment tomorrow and then gonna go for a ride.
I'll try and post some pics tomorrow.

Rode to the dealership and started to get some evil thoughts....saw a 3" lowered black HD FXSB Softail Breakout CVO with 240 rear tires with stage 1 AC and V&H pipes.....beautiful. Started to think....how much would I get for my sporty bagger? Darn, need to purge these evil thoughts.

I'd keep the Sporty if you can swing it though.

Checked my odometer this morning - 88 miles left until oil change is due. OK, cool. Set the trip meter to 0 and took off. Went on a great ride out on some country roads. When the meter hit 44 miles, I did a U-turn and came back home. Pulled in as 17,000 ticked on the OD, lol. Just did a fresh change with Mobil 1 V-Twin and a K&N filter. Good for another 5K!
