the black (ground) wire is on the battery actually... thats just me following the diagram they gave me. ill try to rig it to the ignition ground and see if that changes anything which im sure was the problem. thanks again slvrscoobie .. gona try it when i get home
the ratchet strap trick was going to be my suggestion.....
Yah, this worked for me years ago. But maybe tire sidewalls were softer. Sounds like his combo would have beat me, even in my prime. Actually, as a young man, I used a Spanish windlass...a piece of rope and a tire iron to set the bead.
they told me to rig both direclty to the battery. heres a pic of the diagram
From that diagram though, that button and its LED will Always be connected to Power. the LED will only turn on when the button is pressed and the relay is activated. Same with my horn install recently.
What you'll want to do is connect the positive line from the battery into the accessory line so its only on when the key is on accessory or run. Otherwise, even at 3v and 50ma, after a week or so, that led could drain the battery enough that it wont start.
i took a chance with the V&H competition 2-1. the clearance is good for a 2-1..the TBR exhaust had too many people saying clearance was bad. if this V&h didnt have such a large muffler (its kinda has a triangle shape) it would have really good ground clearance. over all im happy.
Ordered the HD Siren to replace my radio shack one. Figured since I went with keyless start the battery backup is a good addition. Also caved and ordered a Power Vision.
