Whats the non-dealer, not DIY price on installing a tire on a sportster?
A local Indy quoted me $35 to swap tire & balance per wheel, if I bring in the loose wheel. Pulling the rear wheel is very easy, and you don't have to mess with the caliper, alignment or belt tension. I am pretty sure I could find a lower price if I hunt around. I haven't pulled a front wheel yet...next year.

damn! I was guessing on a triple digit figure!
What tires you end up going with? I don't like the stockers, and found Michellen commanders on Amazon for $250 F+B, but over at the XL forum, the metzeler me880 Ultra won hands down in their tire-off from the users.

I got 10K miles out of the standard Dunlops. This time around I decided to go with the Dunlop American Elite. These use a newer design which has a harder material in the center for cruising, and a softer material on the side of the tread for cornering. Good price, good reviews, figured I'd try them out. They are supposed to last longer. I was also looking at the Michelins, which were priced about the same.

I just had a set of DAE's put on my 2013 2 months ago. Have a similar version on my bagger and it makes a huge difference. The MCII's I had on my bagger got about 10K. Hoping these do better. AND I hope they do better on my Sportie too. The Mich Scorchers that were OEM got about 8K on them.

PA roads really stink and are hard on tires. All that tar and chipping - sucks!

GOOD LUCK!

Default LEDs all the way around and added a themed cover...

I spent the weekend adding LEDs all the way around the new 48. I feel that LEDs make me more visible. Plus I added a custom tank cover. I think it's kinda cool and I like it--as opposed to painting the bike and then repainting when I want another change.

The LED turn signals came from Custom Dynamics, the LED headlamp is from Harley, and the tank cover is from an Etsy store. The cover is all boat grade vinyl and is super easy to clean. See below...

Generic ones can be gotten for <$100. I only expect to mount tires once per year, so I probably won't be buying one. Very cool though.

Seems like a bit of an overkill for my small backyard shed/shop.

Of course you are right. But there's a few tools I have you could say that about.

Now if we all lived in the same town we could buy one and share it.

Except for that one guy who always breaks things or loses them. We all know who that guy is.
