Yeah I hadn't removed any of those things yet, so it was a good learning experience for me. It wasn't difficult. I just didn't know what things I was going to have to take off, so it took a while to figure it all out. First I took the top shield off, and could almost reach the bolts with a long tip. So I took the top pipe off, then I could undo both bolts on the rear cylinder. But I couldn't undo the bracket bolts underneath, so I had to remove the front pipe and pivot the exhaust bracket. But I couldn't pivot the exhaust bracket without removing the pulley guard screws and moving it out of the way.

When I realized I would have to get a new gasket for some reason or another I decided to pick up a second. Good thing because my first reassembly was wrong so I had to take it off and start over. Without that extra gasket I would have had to wait another day.

And yes, I even have the service manual.

Just got my `16 Iron. Not much done yet, but got rid of a couple of hideous silvery bits. Upper fork tubes are now leather wrapped. The oil cap and bezel have been painted the correct color.

Over the weekend I installed a FuelMoto Dynajet Micro EFI tuner. Got 120 miles of riding in, and did an oil change this afternoon with Mobil 1 V Twin.

Tomorrow is a ride to work day, which puts a smile on my face.

Realized I left my petcock on for (who knows how long) awhile and so I leaked a bunch of fuel into the cylinders. Pulled my carb (to rebuild the obviously worn float needle among other things), siponed and blew out the cylinders.
We'll see how this pans out.

In my quest to find a perfect seat I've now pulled the trigger on a Mustang tripper solo. Its now winging its way to me along with my clevis pin conversion pegs, so I should be able to get my forwards fitted.
