Locking throttle and cruising hands off the bars when arm fatigue sets in on long rides. Tested them today, work awesome. Even in winds, very stable. Would work best with a back rest or with gear packed up for camping.

I already said others shouldn't do it. What else do you want from me? Here maybe this will help you picture it, my first real testing, some long straight highway. Hands are the ready the whole time haha:

Today I also installed my passenger peg mounts, peg extensions, and of course, pegs. Had to remove my heat shields, both pipes, rear brake cylinder, pulley guard, and the lower exhaust bracket just to get to it. Took up most of my morning. Guys with older sportys, be glad you don't have to mess with this.

Also ran into a problem after I installed my peg extensions... they won't come back off. They weren't cross threaded, weren't tightened down too hard... but yeah.... I exerted some extreme man force trying to get the piece back off, and it aint comin. I wanted to slip a washer or something in there so the extension wouldn't move, only the peg. I'm going to have to grind the bolts off and replace with new ones. It has a locking nut, but it's like it's permanent, I didn't even threadlocker them.

OH and I removed my lower pulley guard today, the plastic one. Been meaning to do that for a long time.

In installed a FuelMoto DynoJet Micro EFI tuner tonight. Lord that was a bugger, partly because of my inexperience. Took it for a test ride, no issues. I made a vid I'll post later. For $200 it's a very versatile tuner and should solve my running lean issues.

haha, it's actually incredibly stable, I was surprised. I chose that patch of highway because it's so straight, I know the condition, you can see so far ahead, and traffic is so spread out. Looks more extreme than it was, camera was bouncing around a lot and its on my chest. You can see I was ready to grab the bars by the truck, see my hand start to go up. (EDIT: oh wait, no I guess I edited that part out because I had to make it 15 seconds)

Dane, where did you get these peg extensions? They are exactly what I have been looking for, the setup that extends the mount with longer bolts won't work for my bike, I don't have enough clearance between the rear master cylinder and header.

Ran into that when I took them off. I'm not mechanical so it was a project but seemed like a good way to get to know the bike a little better.

I have one that looks like that; its a Kuryakin product I believe. Search for "stirrup extension" or similar.

Edit- Found it:

Amazon.com: Kuryakyn 8041 2-1/4" Stirrup/Heel Rest Extender: Automotive Amazon.com: Kuryakyn 8041 2-1/4" Stirrup/Heel Rest Extender: Automotive
