I pulled the battery to charge it. It looks as if my voltage regulator is fried again, and in less than 24 months. I think I'm going to try a third party regulator this time.

Cycle Electric is what I use on my Slim and Iron. I've had no issues in over two years and would recommend them.

Went to the dealer to figure out my brake line issue. 229 dollars later... and still have to buy the rest of the kit.

Did a bunch of work this winter on my bike: speedo and coil relocation, 1.5" tank lift and wire tuck, got rid of the headlight cowl, put on a solo seat, got a Lick's solo bag, put a low profile smoked taillight and licence plate bracket (Canadian Iron so it has the standard Sportster rear fender- will chop this coming winter) and I bought black set of drag pipes to put on. They were aftermarket crap. I had to drill out the O2 ports because the welds were too messy and not allowing the sensors all the way in and then could not get the pipes to fit properly. Gave up and realized I was too broke to buy a decent full system so I took the stock pipes to a guy my old man recommend to have them ceramic coated satin black. Got them back this morning and put them on. Turned out to be a beautiful day so I took the bike for a ride (crazy 'cause we're supposed to get a couple of inches of snow tomorrow). Canadian winter won't go without a hell of a fight but I got a ride in today!!!

What?! that's why man, that's why... especially after the oil bag bs, i don't take my bike near dealers.

229 would have bought you a whole new set of lines and pads + dot x fliud.

@filbert33 - so did the dealer figure out the issue? Would be worse if they charged you 229 and couldn't figure it out. If so, then they did their job...

@cvaria - it all depends on your wrenching skills. IMO brakes are a safety issue and if the owner is not comfortable fussing with it, it is best to take it to the professionals i.e. those who are Harley certified.

I take my bike to the dealer on occasion but I have a good relationship with them....and the parts guys. And I also still have warranty on my 2011 with 55k until 2019 so I let them fuss with the safety things or things that may affect the big ticket components.
