What I wouldn't do to have to deal with that concern (as I look out at snow falling on April 4th).

Being here in AK I really feel your pain. Been trying to get my driveway thawed out just to get 3in of snow yesterday. On the bright side I am moving back south this month but I really wanted to get in one more Alaska ride before leaving.

I installed a breather kit & a V Charger AC unit. I am waiting on a richer slow speed jet, and warmer weather. I have recently added shocks and slip- ons.

[QUOTE=TStephen;15006352]Took off the lower belt guard, soldered up some bad connections, spot painted a few areas on the frame.

Can anyone explain why the PO would cut two of the wires going to the coil? I found a pink and a white wire under the tank, cut off and hanging. Looked in the service manual and the wiring diagram shows two pink wires joining on one post, and two white wires joining on the other post. Why would someone just cut two wires like that? Can't figure that one out so I soldered them and joined them as shown in the wiring diagram.

My guess is the PO fitted an aftermarket ignition. So normal lose the original pink which is replaced with a new pink wire from the new ignition.

You're spot on with that guess. He did replace the ignition switch, but that shouldn't impact the wiring to the coil. The switch has basically an off position and a lights/run position. When in the lights/run position, all circuits are closed. I've traced it out on the wiring diagram and still can't see why the wires would have been cut.

Anyway, this isn't the thread to figure out my potential wiring issues.

Default Turn Signal Relocate !

Woo Hoo! I did it.

I pulled the seat and tank in order to get to the lights connector. Had to swivel my head light housing a bit ti make room to push the signal light through. See my albums, i'm an HD Forums noob, dunno how to get all them pics on this post. BTW I used the Harley OEM parts for this, yeah they kinda stick out a bit, but i'll get used to it.. may be put shorter stems later dunno.

Not ignition switch, ignition module. Sorry should have been more specific...

That wouldn't be a problem around here. Everything is covered in snow and salt. April 5th...ridiculous. Looks like warmer temperatures and rain on Thursday but then it gets cold again. I doubt I'll be riding in 72 hours. Spring is here and yet it feels more like Winter than our Winter. That being said, look forward to seeing pics of your latest work.

Thanks.

kinda weird but the temp can't drop below 55 degrees during the 72 hours either.... sooooo it's inside snuggling with me while I sleep I guess.
