Got the seals changed. Someone had been there before me and put the old ones in with a screwdriver.

I did order a seal install tool but then remember I had some 2" drain pipe and used that before the postman arrived.

Old oil was black and new a nice red colour.

A definite different feel now.

Picked up the rear tire from the Ducati dealer that does some work for me. Ended up replacing the valve stem, problem solved. Got the wheel mounted back up this afternoon.

When I walked in the Ducati dealer I started walking past a Moto Guzzi V100, I HAD to stop and stare for a minute. Wow what a sweet looking bike, if I was 10-20 years younger I'd have one of them!

Standard practice here with shops that do tyres to change rubber valve stems and valve with the tyre.

My truck and trailer tires have steel stems, so they are not changed. No leaks or else they would be, but all other stems are changed with tires. My Ultra Classic has the TPMS stems so they won't be either.

Local tire shops usually change stems when they change tires.

On my 2007, the oil was nasty. Took a few cans of brakeclean to clear out the crud at the damper bolt. Makes me think its time to change the fluid in my 2020.

Went out and didn't notice until first stop that all the dash (idiot) lights aren't working.

It will be the 3rd one to fail on the 2017. The very nice man at the dealer has told he will try and get it done as a warranty job. This will make it number 4.

I should have heeded what someone else did to give the board an extra coat of varnish. The new one will get it for sure.

When I changed the last one I discovered that when it was changed be a different dealer under warranty they busted one of the plastic screw mounts. How nice of them to leave it like that.

Front fork service changed at some point to a rebuild after 50,000 miles. At that time new oil.

Because of what I was doing on the 2008 I didn't bother taking the drain screw out. There isn't one on your 2020, just tip the oil out the top or let it flow out the bottom if you remove the damper rod screw first.

Default Fitted an Iron mount n clamp to my XL C

I filed out the middle holes and used the end two to drop bolts through which hold the dummy lights snug, and removed the stock junk and put some iron risers on as well. Saved having to buy a new dummy light harness. Works well.

Dropped the break-in oil (VR1) out of the roady, 2nd oil change on the 1275 at 618 miles. Went with the Walmart supertech Vtwin syn for the flush to synthetic. I did notice some foaming in the tank with the VR1, not sure if it is an issue or if my research has caused a bit of Sportster munchausen.

Planning on installing rocker lockers on the front head this week for a test seeing if they quiet my tick. The end play is well below the .025 spec, which seems a bit fat to me. Might be an answer looking for a problem, but it’s worth a shot for $30 bucks.
