Got some seat time last week on the 883, still playing around with the fork height and trail. Using my cheap alignment rods for measuring I’m at 4 3/4 inches unloaded, Thinking with me in the saddle probably closer to 5”. Going to lower the tubes about 5mm more, measure ride and test.

The bike is fine at speed and possibly a bit clumsy at crawling speeds, could be me though.

Raising the tubes worked, bike is kosher at speed and not as aloof crawling. Have the tubes 22mm above the clamp, cap not included.

Your bike looks awesome. What handle bars are you running? I like the look but they seem wide(r)

Burly Scrambler bars, a bit wide and really about an inch too tall for me. Planning to address the risers sometime down the road. Until then the people following me have to hope I’ve remembered the old spice.

New Y’all, air cleaner installed -
Amazon Amazon

Actually it’s NewYall, a Chinese manufacturer I’ve had good luck with. Check out this polished carb and slide on my Chinese 250 Enduro -

Had a time with the breather setup, Doorman PCV 90 fittings and some lines after drilling thru the bolts. That and removing the powder coat took some time. When the doc tells me to quit smoking again “ it’s not the Marlboros doc, it’s the Chinese powder coat”.

I have ordered a new seat for my Iron 883 after my stock seat was stolen from my garage after a break in. I have a Rough Crafts seat installed on the Iron which I find too thin and uncomfortable for longer rides. I was going to reinstall the stock seat, but now that it is gone I've ordered a CC Rider seat which should be more comfortable. The CC Rider seat has adequate padding for comfort, it is black with orange stitching and orange piping, I have attached photos of the black and red version, it cost me £150.00 ($191.26).

I personally like the look that it gives and my bottom will thank me for buying it.

I bought one of their seats off of ebay for the SuperLow, it has orange stitching, but not the orange piping. IMO the seat is of high quality, and so far on several rides of 70-80 miles has been comfortable. Worth the $130 IMO.

As far as what I did to the Sportster, I installed the new battery in the 1200 Custom this afternoon. I managed to get everything situated with the two bikes and the Ford Focus so I could get the car in the garage for tonight. They are predicting SEVERE weather over night with LARGE hail. I do NOT want hail damage to my car. It's a tight fit, but I got the car in the garage.
