Went wrong over a speed bump again and scraped a bit more metal away from the jiffy stand spring mount. There isn't much metal left or there wasn't much metal there to start with. I think I am going to need it building up with weld. Probably going to make quite a bit of heat mess to the frame's paint.

So what have I done. I took off the jiffy stand to clean off all the old black dirty grease and clean it all up plus give the bare metal a coat of paint.

Spring was a little slow to start here this year, so today was only my 3rd ride of the season, but it had a purpose…

I thought maybe I was having an issue with the low fuel light. Yes, yes, I know these things can be temperamental, and with a 2.2 gallon tank on the 48 I pay close attention to the odometer and tripometer anyways. But the bike is only a year old and it’s under warranty, so if there was a problem with it, I’d have the dealer look at it.

Last weekend, the light didn’t come on after a 61 mile ride (I reset the tripometer right after I refill the tank and it reliably comes on between 47 and 52 miles after a refill). Today it went on right at 47.2 miles, so I’m happy.

Interesting... seems like it'd be more consistant. Anyway, I was on my Iron for a ~250 mile trip last weekend & after a fillup, the light came on and
we stoppped for fuel with 110miles on the tripmeter. Fillup was 2.2 gallons so ~50mpg. I was fairly happy with that....

All the alligator clamps on the 3 way oil line junction near the rear brake light switch on my 96 decided the loosen up and leak a bunch of oil out. So I replaced them with regular hose clamps and went for a spontaneous ride, little chilly but I can't resist riding after I fix my bike

I watched a program about those 'ruins', at one time a beautiful mansion. Interesting history...

it is, there is a mansion in Texas that is modeled after the Windsor house but much smaller in size
