What did you do to Your Sportster Today?
Finally dialed in my tune.had the peg guy make me a matching one since i wont be shifting with my toe anymore, took the side tins down to bare metal.added a 1968 decal... .i noticed the belt alignment was a little off,so i took the belt pulley cover off and low and behold, the pulley was a little loose but the nut was still tight.took the nut off and idk what kind of steel these pullies are but the nut dug into pulley.so i put the 32 back on and i managed to get it tight with a hair play.with the tune and the 32 tooth, everything is in sync now..i am about to tear it down again and go see if i can find a steel washer to tighten it up.this is really getting old.and these exhaust heat shields are a major pain in the **** putting on and off so they will stay off.going for a old school exhaust look.man i have missed that 32 tooth.and i will be replacing the rear black rocker cover with a polished one..anyway,onto a pic.

Found what i needed at tractor supply.bought 4, used 3 which put the 32 tooth pulley back to where it needs to be and tightened down...u can see how the aluminum spacer deforms under heat and correct torque specs.i highly recommend whom ever gets these pullies to not use the aluminum spacer and go get steel washers like i did.

Finally got the chrome rockerbox covers installed this afternoon. I had them delivered to work and of course they were delivered yesterday right after I left work...
It is a TIGHT fit to maneuver them in and on between the rocker arm supports and the frame backbone on the rear, and the plastic wiring harness support, upper motor mount, and coils on the front. I covered EVERYTHING with a layer of blue masking tape to prevent any scratches. Worked out great, no scratches on the covers.
They're being held loosely in place with the zinc plated hardware for now as I didn't realize the new chrome hardware didn't come with any new sealing washers. A co-worker is going to stop by the Harley dealer that has them in stock on Indy's southside where he lives and pick me up a set, so I hope to have everything buttoned back up by tomorrow afternoon.
Did I mention that it is a bazillion degrees out with a humidity level of a bazillion percent outside? THAT just added to the 'fun'...

If it feels like the front wheel wants to follow cracks and wiggles on tar snakes, that's just the tire. Not all tires with a groove running through the middle do that, but it's a common problem with them. Dunlop 400 series have a patterned center groove, but the one that came on my 1200C still wiggled on a hint of a tar snake. The Avon I replaced it with ignores all but the biggest tar snakes, even does ok on bridges with steel grates. Hope yours does handle ok, with the right tire the skinny 21" handles just fine. Nice looking custom, and I would have ditched the cup holder, too.

I was confused too. When I was taking it off I wasted about 15 minutes wondering why it was even there. My best guess was to shake up his beer cause he liked the foam.
