I removed the old tires and installed my new front and rear tire using the zip tie technique from this video. I used two motion pro tire irons and Ruglyde rubber lube. Saved me $50 per tire at the dealership. I balanced using Ride On instead of weights. There are many YouTube videos showing the zip tie technique, but this guy's explanation and technique is the best in my opinion. Bought 36" heavy duty zip ties at the big box home store in the section with duct work.

Well, it seems I have to do something today.
Bike was starting and running fine all 18 month I own it.
Last week it stalled twice and tried to stall once (two days ago), when I opened throttle a little bit to roll, after short warming-up. So I had to warm-up more to start well.
Today it fails to start. Here is how this happens (sound on):
- starter interrupts quickly
- some screeching after power-off.
I suspect that battery terminal is loose.

I took my wife for a ride on the Sporty yesterday for the first time, after restoring the fender struts that had been chopped, and replacing the chopped rear fender with a Dyna style bobbed rear fender and quick release backrest, and putting on 13 inch progressive rear shocks and passenger pegs. The ride was prettty smooth and the bike handled well, considering how much weight was on it. We are both larger, but the bike handled it well....so much for the naysayers. Next project is painting all the tins.

I ran through a tank of gas. The old Ironhead is running great, really nice to have warm weather returning.

Hmm... when I had brand new Honda CB125, the OEM battery died in one and half year. Same as age of my Sportster.
And reviews for Harley's OEM battery are bad: https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...ry/p/65958-04B
Owners complain that battery lasts only about a year.

You have to keep them on a tender...the ecu will drain the battery pretty quickly. I was going thru a battery a year on my Road King until I got wise and started doing that...

Isn't it winter storage trick? Anyway, there is no wall socket at my parking lot.
