What did you do to Your Sportster Today?
If there is not one already, add one of those wavy washers for tension. If there is one, it might need to be replaced.
They are tight now of course.
Changed tires a few weeks ago, and finally got around to adding Ride On tire sealant for the balancing properties. 8oz front. 12oz rear.
Rode a 35 mile test-ride. Didn't notice any difference, but I guess that's good since the ride didn't seem unbalanced before.
Since I disassembled and reassembled my control housing during my recent mini ape install, I learned the mechanics of the throttle assist. I never really understood that little star shaped screw head under the control housing. The bar swap led me to read up on it in the service manual. It's just a basic friction shoe that tightens against the throttle tube. Who knew?
Anyway, I tried it out and discovered it actually worked. I was able to spin it CCW (righty tighty) with my index finger about a half turn which allowed my throttle to remain in place on a long 50mph back road. I could twist it off and on, but no snap back which is the intended purpose.
Not sure I'll use it regularly, but it was helpful for a short wrist break.

In the UK whoever puts up signs gives you a couple to point you in the right direction and then right at the point where you could use a sign there isn't one!
A gave the bike a quick wash and wax and put some miles on it. Nice sunny weather today, 23°C or 73.4°F.

Did you remember to also remove any weights that were on the wheels before?
