Agreed, IMHO, the Iron probably has the worst suspension in the Sportster line.
I'm switching the fork damper tubes to those used in the old Roadster and
I've tossed the rear shocks (from 2013) in favor of a set of HD air-over-oil shocks from a StreetGlide.
T.
The only Sportster that has different shocks is the Roadster. All the others are the same.

You have to be careful with that statement to include a year. From 2014 and on the XL1200T is fitted with a single sided adjustable shock. The other side is a rebound non-adjustable shock.
It still sucks as it is made for riders over 190 lbs else it is too firm.
The 2020 Iron 1200 did have the mini apes and the cafe fairing which comes standard and in my case - I realize your bike is different - the cafe fairing did nothing at all in regards to deflecting wind and bugs. I felt like a drag chute and I was peppered with bugs.
Speaking of the bike, the first things I would have done to it if I had bought it, would include ditching the fairing, bars, paper thin seat and useless shocks. In their effort to lower the bike, H-D made it very uncomfortable to ride over any irregular surface. My 2005 XL883 standard rides like a limousine compared to it.
I have a 1200 Iron seat on my SuperLow, I find it pretty damn comfortable. I bought it for the looks and because I never cared for the stock seat, it was way to wide for the fairly slim Sportster and looked out of place. As I said,it ended up being comfortable which I wasn't expecting.
The problem with the shocks on the 2020 Iron 1200 I rode is they were too short. My stock shocks on my 2005 Sportster are longer and do not bottom out. Even though they only have three settings, my middle position is very comfortable and I weigh 185 lbs.

Hmmm, okay, the bike of topic is a Iron 1200 which is a current bike of the 2020 model year, debuting in the 2018.5 model release with the now discontinued Forty-Eight Special. The current year in which we are living is 2020 AD or Anno Domini, meaning "in the year of our Lord." The day of this typing is December 15, which is the twelfth month of the year using the Gregorian calendar. Harley Davidson currently makes four models based on the Sportster frame, which debuted in 1957. These current models are: Iron 883, Iron 1200, Forty-Eight, and the Roadster. Of the current models produced for the model year 2020, the only model without short shocks is the Roadster. If you wish to own a Sportster model with taller shocks, you will need to purchase a Roadster or any number of models produced between the calendar model years of 1957 and 2020.
Or you just have to be careful how you interpret statements on the internet.
