What did you do to Your Sportster Today?
Imagine beaches like that on an island, lol. Sitting here in central coast area of CA with highs today around 84. Was almost chilly on my ride this morning. This is why we put up with the lunacy in this state. 84 was the high for the week, by the way. It will get hot in Aug-Sept then starts to cool off again.

OCD kicked in- hiding wires
Got started on replacing my clutch cable and throttle/idle cables with Magnums... decided that I wanted to clean up the wiring and internally route the control wires. 10/10 PITA scale with these bars but looking forward to putting it all back together soon.
Messy wires gottta get cleaned up
Stripped and cleaned
What a pain in the ***!

Hi,
bought them from http://chainsikle.com/menuitem/viewm...mproducts/id/9 sadly I had to adapt a simple new brake cylinder as the kit for the original did not fit with my exhaust.

The afternoon temps have been above 90 degrees F all month, setting a new record, and the heat index has stayed in the triple digits. My rides start early in the morning and finish around noon. Fortunately, I am retired and I have thousands of miles of mountain twisties all around me in the Virginia and West Virginia border area. There are no boring rides here and I can knock off over a hundred miles a day in comfort on my old XL883 standard. For some strange reason, all the other local riders wait until the heat is unbearable to "go out and play". My morning rides are like the spring and fall afternoon rides around here. The only hazards I've seen are fallen branches from the thunderstorms and slippery road kill. I've been riding for almost 60 years and I'm not stopping now.

Sunday morning I decided I needed some social distancing and took out the 77 XLH. Never left the driveway. Gas on, ignition on, starter . . . CLICK.Tripped the main 30A breaker. WTF? 2nd try, same thing. So took the Dyna instead. This morning went through the starter system with the meter. After some disassembly, pulled the starter and inspected it. Field & battery coils grounding out. Damn AFM, the starter only lasted for 43 years. New Prestolite starter and solenoid are on their way to me.
