What did you do to Your Sportster Today?
Took my sporty in to town to test drive a 2012 Ultra. Did not want that bike. Noticed my new throttle cable was sticking when wide open . Not where you want a throttle to stick.
Got it home and pulled the filter off, and lubed everything, and figured out it was binding in the twist grip. Fixed that, now works like it was supposed to.

I am sure it wasn't anything that could not be fixed. Its a 2012 with under 27k on it for $9500. When I took it for a test ride, the front forks almost felt like they were not connected. I mean they caught in certain places, and felt crazy loose in others. I didn't take it on the freeway, because I was not comfortable with it. The steering seemed to "lock" in position, at about 15 mph. Now quite possibly, this COULD be head bearing adjustment, but I have enough experience with bearing on motors, etc, to know they are most likely shot. I am pretty certain other parts are too.
Going down the road, I hit a bump, and it sounded like the left saddlebag was going to fall off. Did not investigate that.
The clutch did not engage, eve, partially, until nearly completely out. That COULD be adjustment, it might need a new clutch.
I am not willing to buy a bike at that price, which will take up nearly all of my usable funds, only to have to put hours of work into it, and who knows how much money, to make me feel safe on it. Other may have, but not me. I have a feeling I am not alone, as that bike has been listed over a month, and I watched the price drop from 12,500, in steps, to the current 9500.
I would take on a project like that if it were a sportster, that I planned on making a scrambler/dual sport out of, but not my main ride for me and my wife.
