I mean, it EXISTS for the rigid mounts, but the cost of the part alone is more than the value of my 2003, to say nothing of the cost of installation. https://bakerdrivetrain.com/products...nt=23267551235

That'd be pretty sweet, though.

So what happened in the gearbox when it went rubber mount that was not cost effective for Baker to keep up?

Yeah, I kicked around the Idea of the 6 speed for my 2002, But I thought with that much of an Investment, I may as well just go with a Big twin with a 6 speed already in it,

Today was a nasty day, so I window shopped at the local dealerships. Surprisingly, the metric dealership was asking much higher prices for the Harley's that were traded in, than the Harley dealership was asking. I always that the MoCo dealerships were the culprits for the used motorcycles. Boy, was I wrong! This was a very pleasant surprise. I didn't even go to the Euro dealership because their inventory is Italian, German British. Hmmmm....maybe I should've gone there, too. I'll do that on another nasty day.
Oh, another pleasant surprise is the Harley dealership had the friendliest employees on the floor and behind the counter. None were pushy at all. I like it when I'm wrong and good things happen. Maybe I could re-write the words to the sales ad..."You meet the nicest people in a Harley dealership."

lewk, what Year is your sportster again?
Mine is an 2002, Motor is stock except pipes and air filter, and I put the 30 tooth on.
I think on mine, 31 would be too high.
But I think a 2016 might have a larger rear pulley.

2007 all stock except for air intake. I too have 30T from Harley Davidson International.
I could go 31T only because I am lightweight (145 lbs).
32T is definitely too high IMHO.

"32T is definitely too high IMHO"

My dumb A$$ Bad, I meant 31T is too High IMO , for Me (about 220, was 260 ~ at one time) The 30 Tooth is Nice.
( I didn't even have any problems when I was ~260 lbs either, with the 30 T pulley)
Oh, so you already have the 30 T pulley.

Oh yeah, at 145 that would be sweet with a 31 tooth front pulley!
Did you change the pulley, or did it come from overseas (the bike)
(Never Mind, I see you did install it)

Did away with the "Trap door" for the trans.
I understand you have to split the motor case now to work on the transmission.
It was pretty easy to pull on the frame mount motors.

When I back off the throttle at low rpm in 1st & 2nd, it bucks a little just giving it gas to get moving again (both my sportsters are carbed), so it's slip the clutch every time to speed up. The way so many people here accelerate slightly, back off, accelerate some more, that can be using the clutch a dozen times before getting up to 30 mph. Really annoying.
