Default Idiot move of the day

So I switched my plug wires out for the fat SE wires. Long story short the rear plug was a PIA to get on the coil with my fat fingers. Used a set of needle nose pliers and finally got it in. In the process I cut a slit in the rubber housing.

Would this cause any future problems? Bike fired right up, my main concern would be water.

I'm not really sure what that picture is supposed to be of, but did you cut the wire insulation or the boot? I doubt either would be a problem. You can always put a dab of liquid electrical tape on the cut.

Be careful, I'm sure those big wires cost money. Not that they do anything, of course.

put some silicone sealer on it. if you use a high pressure car wash...avoid that area. make sure the silicone is heat rated.

Put them back on, they're not hurt. I'd trust them.

You didn't hurt them, just hold the slit open like you did in the pic and dab some RTV sealant into the cut. You can get the RTV at any auto parts store.

Perfect solution, don't waste your money. No one looks at plug wire boots, nobody.

I have my 23 year old orange (only color back then) super duper nuclear jet powered SE wires on my bike. Makes it look at least 10mph faster for sure.
