Need some advice on a "upgrade"?
Hi All,
I need some advise. I have a 2013 883 Iron with about 3,000km on it. My local stealership offered to buy it back on the basis that I buy a 2013 Street Glide with a new helmet, backrest and new HD jacket. They will settle my outstanding balance on the Iron.
Some background: I'm the Road Captain for our local HOG chapter, riding a sporty with 80% of the riders having bigger bikes than me.
You advice?

Hi Scorpza, great pic of you and your son. Very cool. Here's my advice: Let the bike choose it's rider. Don't be in a big rush to upgrade just because you're on the smallest bike of the pack. IMHO that is a sick looking Iron, diggin' the all blacked-out look. Enjoy your ride. Test ride a bunch of other bikes. Swap bikes with your mates for short rides. Then let the right bike adopt you.
I'm on my 7th motorcycle since my Honda Twinstar 185cc Now I'm on a Road King Classic 1600 and it's an absolute dream. But that's because my wife and I ride everywhere 2-up, and we make loooooong road trips all over the US. My previous bike when I was single was a Cross Bones that kicked serious ***, but it was my dream bike back then, not now. Things change.
Enjoy that sweet Iron. Looks really good. Don't rush. Enjoy the ride! You have a lifetime to upgrade, so take your time and enjoy it. Don't get caught up in the dick measuring when everyone fires up their rides!
