Battery Tender

Battery Tender
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I live in little rock, Ar, and except for maybe a month to six weeks, I can ride year round. (except for the brutal heat in july and August!!). My question is, should I invest in a battery tender since Im not putting the bike up for a long time, or will starting it and letting it run for half an hr keep battery charged in between rides.
Thank you everyone.

A tender is a good idea, even for the hot months when your not riding on a regular basic. If your running your bike just to charge the battery be sure and run it long enough each time to cook off any moisture that may have accumulated in the crankcase. Short heat cycles can cause condensation to build

I have the same bike you do and it has the battery tender prewired to the battery. Maybe that was a dealer installed option. I bought the charger below from my dealer. Very convenient.

For the fuel you're burning during these battery top-off runs...you can afford a tender. Sears sells a good one for under $20 and might be on sale for this shopping weekend.
