I started collecting tools at about 14 years old and at 71 about 2/3rds of them fit in the big red chest. I have names like Williams, SKWayne, Proto, Craftsman. Wards, even some JCPenney.

There's nothing wrong with craftsman tools. I'd rather take something back to sears occasionally than pay 3x as much and then have to track down a snap on or Mac truck. Go here http://www.sears.com/tools-mechanics...R&viewItems=50
and buy one of the sets with all 3 size sockets and combination wrenches to start. There are some nice sets that have boxes with molded trays for everything and they're on sale. The one for 179.00 is a good deal. Buy the craftsman professional screwdriver set with it.

I have craftsman tools from the late 70's. USA Made. But have been buying tools since as you can never have enough if your a hands on guy . Check yard sales as you can still get the older made in USA stuff for cheap. I carry no tools while riding since my insurance comes with roadside assistance.
