IMO this is always a try it again and again until it feels right type of thing. Bring a short screwdriver with you as you ride, and pull over frequently changing the mizture until it performs as you want it or as close to as you wnat it as possible. I am doing the same with my PCIIIr as it is all about personal feel and what I am after...

Sorry if I'm giving wrong info, just trying to help and glad there are others to make sure the advice is right... I may be confusing the pilot screw with the idle mixture screw. I'm up for a lesson myself, apparently.
