Default exhaust question

I've seen exhaust listed for 99-03, 04-06, 07-09, 06- current. I know sportster haven's change a ton of the years but I'm just curious to know as I'm trying to sell an exhaust that I bought and was listed for just 04-06.Would like to know for future reference as well. Thanks

03 and back are rigid mounts, 04 and up are rubber mounts. I think that 06 was the last year of the carburetor, so I'm thinking anything not listed to fit past 06 does not have o2 sensor bungs.

Some exhaust will only fit with one type of controls too (Mid-Control or Forward control).

So really all it has to do with is being carbed or fuel injected? Mounting shouldn't be a problem though right?

I think you will find it will fit any rubber mount with a carb, which should avoid the risk of someone with an EFI Sporty buying it in error.

You can use an 07 or later exhaust on an 04 - 06, but you'll need to plug the o2 bungs.
Also, not all pipes are compatible with forward controls, be sure and check that the pipe you're looking at will fit with your controls.

An 01 is a rigid mount, it may fit but he will probably have to make a bracket for the rear.

There also could be issues with the foot controls...

It would be helpful to know what exhaust it is and the specifics of the bike it is going on (in particular whether it has mid or forward controls)...
