Hmm interesting.... Did the previous owner have any trim on the edges?

No one did any trimming, nor did someone "put" that hole in your fender.

That is a factory hole. Most likely used to hang during the painting process. All sportster front fenders have that hole.

Go ride that bad boy!

it could be a display . buddy of mine had a bunch of them hanging on the wall .all different colours looked cool

I was told that it's to hang for painting... wanted to put on flap, but they don't make em for sporties

Yep, its to fit a small HD Mudflap that you can pick up from your local HD Stealership...

You beat me to it. You can mount a mud flap, or some chrome trim using that hole. I actually thought about getting that chrome trim, or blacked out trim, just to fill that hole.
But, then I just got on the bike and rode it fast on a curvy road and forgot about it!
