2004 to 2006 = motor is rubber mounted like a Dyna and last years of the carb. 2007 and up is still rubber mounted, but all EFI only.

I once had a 1995 not a 1200 but the Hugger 883 and I rather enjoyed the ride, rubber mounts are more of a cadillac feel (smoother) but personally either way fits me fine. Make sure you test ride whatever you do buy to see how the ride fits you..

What's your budget? For about $5k you can a 2003 and earlier solid mounted Sporty. For about $6k you can get a 2004-2006 carbed Sporty. For less than that look at Sportsters before 2000. You'll find many good bikes if you take your time to look. Good luck.

04 1200R if you can find one.
Rubber mount, carb,
3.3 gal peanut tank....classic.

Wish I still had mine.
Carb bikes just seem to have more personality to me.

In my experience, carb'd bikes are smoother at lower speed. But EFI bikes are much simpler to own, overall, I think. I have both, and it's a tough call with I prefer. I like the EFI I have on cold days, there is no nursing the bike when it's cold, whereas the carb'd bike is a cold natured biatch for about 15 minutes...
