does anyone out there know what the 1000 mile service includes

Mostly it includes lightening your wallet to the tune of $225.00+![:@]

If you mean what do they do, or what are they SUPPOSED to do, it's outlined in your owner's manual. If you don't have one and have MS Excel, I can send you a spreadsheet that lists all the items to be performed by maintenance interval - let me know if you want one and I can send it via PM.

hey sam,

my wife and i took our 1200c's in about 2 weeks ago and had the service done. everyone, i think, agrees it's a really big one that needs to be done (by who i guess it all depends). they really go over the bike pretty well, like tweeking the spokes, etc. we went with syn3 oil as well. it really gave us alot of piece of mind getting it done and by the place where we purchased the bikes. they did give us a sheet outlining everything that was done and we even spoke with the mechanic who did the service. seemed to be a real bang up job. bikes run great to boot! like thumper said it'll run you about $225 to get it all done. good luck...

Thanks, Johnny. I was going to look for that today since I had my 5000 mile done this past weekend. I gotta say that they made some great adjustments because she's running really smooth.

 

According to Bill (TCSTD) you can go to the Harley website, enter your VIN and it will give you the service requirements.

 

I think HD requires that you have the 1,000 mile done by a dealer to keep your warranty intact. Not sure of this, but it would be a good idea to check and see.

My 100 mile service was included at no charge, which is good since nothing else has gone well witht the bike except how see looks so pretty - ha - a 12K statue
