Default Tallest bars on a 48 with stock cables?

Whats the tallest bars you guys have put on a 48 using the stock cables?

I plan on putting 8" Road 6 Customs on my bike and I know that I have to replace the brake line but now im reading that you cant put Biltwell Friscos (7") with the stock 48 clutch cable.

Anyone know?

I have 10 inch road6 apes on my iron and all I changed was the brake line, clutch fit perfect and wire was all good.I do believe the 48 and Iron are pretty close to exact in this regard! With the clutch you just have to remove the cable out from under the frame clips and pull it up toward the bars and let it ride free.

10" is the tallest you can go with only replacing the brake line. I moved all of my other stock cables above the ignition switch(normally ran under it) and between the triple clamps. Plus cut a few zip ties to gain a little extra length. here's a few close up pics

I ran my main wires between the lower bolt on the lower clamp(zip tied to the bolts). see last picture to bring them closer to the bars. Hope the pictures show enough. Ask away if you need more help! Glad to help out a member!!

I think it also depends on if you've done a wire tuck or not and also how wide the bars are. But maybe 10" are the highest you can go with just replacng the bake line and not be messing with the electrics.
I've got a wire tuck on mine and that helps in gaining a few extra inches in lengths on the wires. I've got the same style of bars as cpracing519, 10" Z-bars, and I also only replaced the brake line. I got a 45" line which gives me a little extra length if I wanna go any higher (12").
I've measured my stuff (wires, cables etc) and I see that I could fit some 12" bars on without changing anything else. At least some 12" Z. A wider type of bars like for example Burly narrow apes wouldn't fit.

Hope this helps a fellow 48er out

Thanks guys.

So yesterday I ordered the R6C 8" bars and will be installing them soon. I also ordered a wiring harness extension so I can internally wire them and a longer brake line from Magnum Shielding.

Here are the bars on another members 48. Cant wait to get them on!

Also, they're currently on sale for $99! hell of a deal on some quality bars

It's gonna look sweeeet! Not sure you'll need the wire extensions though, not if you've got a wire tuck. They will be long enough...I promise! But they could come in handy in the future if you'd wanna go higher

Anyone know what banjo fitting I will need for the new brake line?

90°, 60° or 180°

I did a 90 at both ends. I think a 60 would be best at the caliper though.
