Default Fork lock

I am new to the HD world. Do you guys carry a lock with you to put on the fork? I'm not used to not having a lock of some kind on the fork. Just wondering.

Most newer models already have one built in to the neck. At any rate I have never used them.

How old is your bike? They have been building fork locks on the right hand side of the neck tube for the triple trees for a while now on the sportsters.

they only started that in 04 on Sportsters. I bought one once that came with that lock. I used it one time and dropped it right on the fender when I took it off...I left that lock on the curb.

I have one and use it if im going to leave my bike for some time out of site. I attach mine to the disk brake either on the front or back. Mine also has a colored lanyard on it to let people know I have one on it and it reminds me to remove it when im ready to ride.

My bike is a '96 1200S. It has the eyelets on the frame and fork. I guess it wouldn't hurt to carry a lock with me.

I only use it if I am in an area where I feel it's necessary (I try not to go to those places often). The rest of the time no one around here is stupid enough to try and rip me off.

I live in South Tucson and if you don't lock it up it goes to Mexico or the parts shop. Needless to say I use my religiously.

I came out of work one day this spring to get on my bike to go home. Being early in the year the fair weather riders were yet to come out and there were only two bikes in the MC spots that day. When I got to my bike there were police there and the other rider with all his gear, but no bike. I took the lock out of the front brake disc and unlocked my forks and rode home.

Sometimes it is the smallest things that make it a little more difficult that just might save your bike. All I said was maybe they seen my 883 badge on the air cleaner and passed me up.
