Default Springer front end for forty eight

I have been looking everywhere the past few days for a springer front end on a 48. I thought I remembered seeing a thread on it a couple months ago but I could be wrong. I was hoping someone would know what springer to get(if there are any) that would work with the fat front tire and frame.

It's a lot of work on the newer Sportsters. It will not be just a bolt on swap.

Lot's of custom work on the kneck of the 48 to make one work. Paughco makes a springer that will work after modding the neck. Plan on investing about $3,000 or so to make a 48 with a springer! Different spacers, bearings, etc.. I know there is a thread on here or the xlforum.net that some one made one work. Looked sweet.

I was looking at sites for a springer for my 2013 Sportster. I found two sites that look promising; Pagaucho & Demonscycle.com. they both have them narrow or wide, different lengths & styles, chrome & black, but too expensive for me right now

It would be a much needed improvement if these companies provided pictures/examples of their products installed on actual bikes instead of touting "fits all bikes".

Been searching around and can't find an answer... dumb question, but why a springer front end? Is it the badass old school look, or is there a real advantage to it? I love the look, but I'm not sure about what makes it as popular as it is. Thanks for any comments

For some it might be the "Old School" look. For me I want a springer front end cause that's what I had on my chopped 59 Pan Head back in the day. I loved the way it road down the California highways, smoooooth. Glide front ends are smooth also just in a different way. Hard to describe, you just need to ride a springer to know. The weight of the bike has a big effect on how the springer feels. Also if you do or don't have a shock on it to prevent pogoing. Find a freind with a Softail springer & ride it you'll see
