Springer front end for forty eight
I have been looking everywhere the past few days for a springer front end on a 48. I thought I remembered seeing a thread on it a couple months ago but I could be wrong. I was hoping someone would know what springer to get(if there are any) that would work with the fat front tire and frame.

Lot's of custom work on the kneck of the 48 to make one work. Paughco makes a springer that will work after modding the neck. Plan on investing about $3,000 or so to make a 48 with a springer! Different spacers, bearings, etc.. I know there is a thread on here or the xlforum.net that some one made one work. Looked sweet.

For some it might be the "Old School" look. For me I want a springer front end cause that's what I had on my chopped 59 Pan Head back in the day. I loved the way it road down the California highways, smoooooth. Glide front ends are smooth also just in a different way. Hard to describe, you just need to ride a springer to know. The weight of the bike has a big effect on how the springer feels. Also if you do or don't have a shock on it to prevent pogoing. Find a freind with a Softail springer & ride it you'll see
