Yup, been doing this for years. I use a paint marker it does the same thing. Just a quick glance will tell you. I use the 6 o'clock point on just a few critical fasteners.

I'll do it if the bike goes in to the mechanic just to see if the work was done...or atleast attempted. Same goes for car tires being rotated.

I use Marsh 88fx paint markers @ work.
Instead of marking a certain spot,
we make a line from the nut/bolt onto the part/material.

Very common on aircraft. I used this product on aircraft for years.
Called Torque Seal and as you can see it comes in a variety of colors. Couple bucks a tube.

I safety wire every bolt head and torque stripe every nut on my CH 46 helicopter.
I don't do that on my bike.

I do this on the sprocket bolts given the issues some have had with the bolts shearing off. I place a blue dot from a sharpie where the bolt meets the sprocket face.

I've got the safety wire pliers and the stainless steel wire and I still use it from time to time, especially on parts inside the primary on the old scooters.

yes, I use a Sharpie, little dots, color matching my bikes ( I have two bikes). It doesn't come off unless you rub hard with metal polish & gives me peace of mind. Thou I've not had any come loose that I've torqued to specs using blue lock tite
