Default front wheel bearings broke

How many miles should the front wheel bearings last? My bike has the 21 inch laced front wheel and I have 31 k + miles on the speedo. Three months after Harley Service mounted a new front tire the bearings crushed.

I don't have that answer for ya, but I'd probably change the bearings along with the tires. They're fairly cheap, and if you're having the dealer pull the tire they've got a fancy bearing puller.

16,400 on my front bearings with a 21 inch wheel. Tires changed at 15,800 miles.

The type of wheel bearings used by HD has changed 3 times since 2000. You're question can't be answered without knowing what year bike you have.
BTW, my front bearings have over 90,000 miles on them.

I've never had front bearings go bad in 48 yrs of riding all makes of bikes probably because I re-lube them every season along with everything else I service. Best advice "learn to service your own bike"

Harley has used sealed bearings since 2000, they are not designed to be serviced. If you remove them, they are ruined.

Explain how you are servicing sealed ball bearings.

Lots of talk about the recent HD bearings being made out of cheese and dying early.

I have a set of all ***** racing bearings just waiting to go onto this bike, the only thing is you pretty much have to have the HD bearing puller/presser unless you already have another bearing tool that is suitable.

I'm picturing him squirting oil on a sealed bearing.

OK, good question. I have a 2009. These bearings like most of the parts are 2008.

This is the same thing I was thinking, replace any failed parts with best quality parts . I'm not familiar with all ***** racing bearing but I'm already a fan.
