Default Oil leaking from oil fill hole...

Within the last week or so, I have been having oil leaking from the oil fill hole after riding for a bit. It just comes out and drips down. You think the rubber gasket on the filler stick is bad? The oil level is in between the two lines so it's not like I have too much in there and it's trying to escape.

Make sure you're checking the oil in accordance with the directions in the manual (hot, cold, on stand, off stand).

The o-ring could be bad. I don't know, got any pics?

Might be the o ring. When I got my oil temp fill cap the oring was too small. I measured the stock one and went out and bought a new o ring. Since then it never leaked like you have now again.

One of Harley's oldest instruments, the visual oil flow indicator.

Man, do i feel stupid.. Well what it was is I didnt turn the dipstick far enough. For some reason it was hanging up about half way and I just figured that was good so I would push it down. Turns out I had to turn it another quarter turn for it to seat properly. But wasnt so easy to turn. What an idiot!! hahah

Fair enough. I know on my bike, the dip stick is excessively hard to seat.
