Default The "daisy-smelling" rider

I'm sure this has been discussed-to-death, but I find it amusing how people deride the weekend riders on this site. I've read a number of posts about the "real" riders and the 1800 mile a year riders. What gives? I'm not sure what the point is... Aren't we all riding ? For those who have an issue with the weekend riders, please give me your point of view.

Just pop in wild hogs, you'll feel better.

Just a bunch of HS style BS. In reality though 90% of there people who consider themselves hardcore bikers, are sunny day weekends too, they just pretend not to be. If there were so many hardcore "real" bikers out there why is it when it is raining all you ever really see are a few young kids on their rockets and the rain suited winger.

People need to stop riding to please others...

If riding in the beautiful weather is your thing, and makes you happy, do it. If riding in the rain makes you happy, do it.

If not, why do it?

I ride when I can as well. I do not, however, ride in the rain or when it is freezing cold. But that is just me. I don't worry about what others think about it.

I call them weekend warriors. It's not a negative its just a difference from those that ride every day like I do. In every aspect its irritates me when I have to drive my Jeep. I suppose you can separate them into the social ie club weekend riders from those that use a motorcycle as an everyday vehicle like I do. If I get in my cage once a week during riding season its a miracle. With that being said I don't consider myself hardcore. I just choose my bike over my cage unless I have no other choice. I find a lot of friend riders reasons not to ride as an excuse lol Ride on!

I don't care what people say, I ride when I can and make a point of avoiding the rain. I've had my fair share of getting soaked on my scoot.
