I don't know if this comment is supposed to be a joke? But you can buy bolts, of different styles or sizes, at auto parts stores. Or at other places that sell tools or hardware.

I think it has generally been missed. Yamaha bolt ...

I, and probably most people, got it. At least I got it in Allen Riggs post, missed it in your post.

Oh well. A stripped Harley screw is better than a "Bolt" any day. Get it? A Bolt. I crack myself up.

That may be your problem, your following the torque specs in the manual. Forget which but certain year bike and manual the torque spec is wrong (way too high). Ive never used a torque wrench on something like a derby cover anyway.

I don't torque it up anymore. I just get them a little snug and call it a day.

And for the record, I did mean the Yama-Harley Bolt. Whether people got the joke or not, I still crack myself up.

I was finally able to take my bike out on a quick ride today. Just went about a mile each way to the local hardware store and when I got back I noticed there was a little bit a fluid leaking out from the derby cover. So looks like only 5 screws aren't gonna cut it. Guess I'll have to get it fixed sooner than later.

This.

And I've never had a problem or concern since.

I installed the heli-coil and took it on a test drive. Seems to be good, no leaks. Hoping the problem's solved, fingers crossed.
