I wear this (in matte black, what else?):

http://www.schuberth.com/en/motorcycle/c3.html

Love my Rockabilly when I'm cruisin'

The wifey has the female edition of the C3, much smaller and compact for her.

This helmet rocks. Just came off a wreck and had the helmet inspected, its fine (it is insured anyway).

I have a Cardo Scala G9 on my helmet. The system works great as an intercom but it totally sucks for music. It links to my smartphone via Bluetooth so, in theory, I can listen to the radio or my mp3s but the sound is so crappy/tinny that I don't bother any more. For over $200 I expected more.

I use the Cardo Scala G4 with Bluetooth to my phone for tunes, I hate wires. Sound isn't studio quality, but over my pipe and wind noise, it works great and sounds fine IMO.

On top of that, speakers in a helmet are legal in MOST states, where ear buds are not.

If I want to pretty much get rid of exhaust sounds and my exhaust is LOUD I use an earbud style ear phones. I have Ear pods for my ipod that provide great sound but if somebody talks to you you can hear them just fine unlike ear buds. With a quiet FF helmet like my Scorpion EX0-R410 its a great listening experience. With a 1/2 or 3/4 forget it the wind noise and exhaust would drown out the music pretty much. I do know that ear buds and an ipod blows away the radio that comes on Street Glides. With that being said I rarely ride with music. I like engine and exhaust noise!

Scala G4. Works great with my phone via bluetooth. Sounds is actually pretty decent, not as good as with high quality ear buds, but on the bike, I'm looking more for comfort than sound quality, and I hated having ear buds on. Another plus is my ears are not plugged so I can still hear surrounding sounds better, which is probably why they're legal in some places where ear buds/plugs are not. I know they changed their speakers to a higher quality recently, and they do make a difference.

I have the speakers both in my full face and my Scorpion half helmet with the collar on.

Having said all that, I usually do not listen to music while in the city, but on the highway, especially during long trips, it can be pretty nice sometimes.

I listen to music 97% of the time, doesn't matter whether I'm on the Harley, or the Fireblade, using a full face or half face helmet. I used to use a nice set of skull candy earphones but the problem was every time someone wanted to talk to me I have to dive for my phone to mute the music. But using my standard headset that can with the iPhone works by far the best. For the simple reason that I can adjust the volume as well as pause the music when needed. I have several helmets, depending on what I ride the day and what the weather is like, so the earphones makes it nice and easy to use with all helmets.

I used this with a skull cap when I ride. They double as head phone and ear plugs. I have mixed views on them. They work good but if you don't position them just right the will flop around in the wind. They are made by LG.

They aggravate the hell out of me sometimes but they are marginally better than having a wire connected from my head to an iphone. Therefore I use them.

I picked up a bluetooth receiver to use at the gym. found out it works great on the bike. I hated the headphones that came with them so i just used my own.
