Default Saddle Bag Supports that can be used with Detachable Hardware

Hey guys and gals,

I have a lady friend who bought a 2012 Sportster Low. She had a detachable backrest and luggage rack installed and now wants to put on some new throw over bags she purchased. She bought a set of saddle bag supports from Krome Werks but they don't fit with the detachable hardware. So she went to Harley and they told her they don't have a support that will fit with the Harley detachable hardware either. So folks, looking for recommendations on what you are using? Thanks for any help. Rick

Thanks for the reply. These won't fit with her detachable backrest attachment points. She has the detachable docking hardware.

I too have the detachable sissy bar and its accompanying hardware. The bracket attaches to the bolt right in front of the reflector, that bolt goes through the bracket and the sissy bar mount.

I just put longer bolts in the QD hardware so the saddle bag bracket can stack on top. You can get chrome bolts from Fastenal. Worked out well for me.

Really? Thanks, I'll have to check them out. The bends in the Krome Werks version from J&P did not allow it to bolt up on the attachment just aft of the shock attachment. It wanted to set tight against the sideplate, yet the detachable docking point sticks out beyond the side plate by about 3/4".

Mine did the same thing but with a little tug and pull it flexed enough to get the bolt in.

The J&P bracket is bent so that the lower bar is parallel to the bikes for and aft centerline when mounted to Sissy bar spool. At least that's what I call it.

I don't keep my brackest on all the time, just for long trips. I tied one on just to show where they mount.
