Default Looking for a shorter brake pedal

My wife rides a '07 1200 Low. She loves the bike but has a problem with the rear brake. The pedal is too far away from the footpeg for her to reach it safely and comfortably. Does anyone know where I can get a brake pedal that is shorter?

Congrats on the sporty - great bike!

Being 5'1" and wear size 6 1/2 boot, I understand her problem with the pedal. When I started riding my 06 1200 Low I wasn't comfortable with the rear brake pedal either. I am now (however could be better), but it took many hours in the saddle to get comfortable without making any changes. Believe me, I've done the research to find a way of getting that pedal closer. This was the best solution I found without getting a custom pedal. Check this out. It might be what you're looking for: http://kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=harley&ci=3204. I'm still considering this, so if you try it let me know if it works for you.

Thanks Brandy,

I agree that time could cure this, but in the interim I am looking for a way to boost her comfort level so am going to take your advice and try the Kuryakyn part. She's 5'1" also, we spent a lot of time researching bikes when she wanted to upgrade from her old VStar 650 and the Sporty is ideally sized for her except for the brake pedal. I ordered the part today so check back in a week for an update on if it improves things.

Brandy,

My wife thanks you. We tried the Kuryakyn part and it did actually help. It increases the size of the pedal and also increases its height, which does mean that its easier to reach from the foot peg.

Glad it worked out so well. Thanks for the update. I've put it off too long - - gonna order one right now.
