If you don't rejet, you might want to consider the V&H Straightshot HS slip ons. They are less expensive and shouldnt blue. If you go with the full Straightshot system, pipes and mufflers, you might get some bluing on the pipes. Just depends on how lean the bike is in stock form. In my opinion, the rejet is worth it. It's not too expensive and with an added Air Cleaner, you'll definitely see the bike breathe's better and is runs a little smoother...

I have done search after search and still no straight answer. I am looking to bolt on some V&H staigth Shot slip ons on my 06 Sporty 883.. I was wondering if I will need to do a rejet at all. I am keeping my air cleaner stock. Any thoughts???

Hey bro..as you can see in the picture i have the VH straight shoots on my 06 883L.I did rejet and it runs great..I like the sound much better then the slip-ons..They give you a much louder sound so people hear you comming..We need that in New Yorks busy streets LOL..
As far as do you need to rejet..Like they other guy said it depends on how rich or lean your running..And I did have to change my air cleaner as well..

I have v&h slip ons with sreaming eagle ac, remap of fuel injectionon my 07 1200L. the difference in sound from the stock pipesandslip onsis so radically different, that it doesnt evenseem like the same bike. Almost as if someone replaced my 1200 with a big twin. Awesome throttle response to go with it. I love my set up!!!
