I recently got very sick and couldn't ride. Bike sat for a month and now float is sticking. This happened before when it sat for a bit. Anything I can do to stop this? I'm just tired of removing and cleaning this damn carb. Before anyone says pretreat, I got sick unexpectedly.

 

It would still take a bit of effort, but you could turn the petcock off and run the carb bowl dry.
It's unusual for stale gas to cause an issue in just 1 month, but then we really don't know how old the gas was from the last time the underground tanks were filled at the gas station.

 

Have you ever just tapped on the bowl ? I have 3 carbed bikes and if the float sticks I do that first..

 

Try some seafoam once in awhile.
