Just wanted to thank y'all for the great forum, it aided me in buying my first HD a 2013 Iron 883. I absolutely love this little scoot. I'm 5-11 230 and the bike fits me just fine and it has more power than expected. It will easily pull me in 5th gear from 60-90 and on without a problem. I know some have said they had doubts about the 883 but trust me it will move your mass. All I wanted was a "bar hopper" and it does that just fine. It's in my budget and I can afford to do the upgrades that I desire.

Just ordered V&H SS Stag, Fuelpak and Arlen Ness Inverted Aircleaner from J&P Cycles.

Thanks,

Chad

Congrats on the bike. Where'd you pick yours up at? I'm looking at getting one from Renegade in Alexandria. Actually the gf is looking at the iron 883 and I'm looking at the 48 or a fatbob. So some tough calls. I'm about the same size as you so I'm curious about the ride. How is it on longer stretches of highway?

Cool iron 883

great first harley. this bike can grow with you! putting a 1200 kit on the bike later will give you 20 more horsepower and 30 more ft/pd's of torque! the 1200 upgrade is way more cost effective then a bigger harley! cheers from montana

I'm in St. Tammany Parish, Slidell area. There's a Harley Dealership about 3 miles from my home but every time I went there and asked to get a ballpark figure on a bike it was like pulling teeth. Friend of mine recommended Cajun Harley near Lafayette. I looked up there webpage and sent a inquiry at around 8:30 PM, minutes later there internet salesman called Carl. He was straight up said he would beat any price quote I had. I called him numerous times with questions and he never once was "pushy". Ordered the bike and it was worth the 2 hour drive for me. I will buy my next bike from Carl and highly recommend them.

As far as the seat. Its stiff but I plan on changing it anyway.
Chad
