Default FRont Brakes, feel tough to squeeze

Question about my front brakes, just bought my sportster 883 two weeks now and I feels like my front brake lever is alot harder to squeeze when stopping. I dont know if i am using my front brake more and back brake less. My front brakes work but it feels by themselves I need to push them really hard as if it is manually doing it. Qusetion is does it seem normal before I take it to harley to spend my whole day there, Thanks

The brake effort and feel on these bikes leaves a lot to be desired. It's probably 100% normal.

What year is your bike? Also, does it have the factory brake line? Have the pads ever been changed? Fluid flushed?

A little more info is needed.

My 2008 had brake fluid that had turned to jelly. This is the cheapest first thing to try. I used a air powered bleeder from Harbor Freight. I flushed the front and rear fluid completely which brought back the feel in the lever and pedal. I think it was DOT 4 (whatever it calls for) and I paid $4 for it at Walmart. Next thing to check is the condition of the rotors and pads. In any event, your fluid is well past due for a flush if it is the original fluid.

Hope this helps.

A 2006 is definitely overdue for a fluid flush.
CAUTION: be sure and use the fluid type that's embossed on the master cylinder reservoir cap. I believe your 06 uses DOT 5 fluid. You can't mix fluid types.
